Being one of the traditional-historical heads of the Nyingma School, Katok Getse Rinpoche is also one of the few Tibetan Buddhist Masters so widely honoured and venerated in Bhutan, Tibet and the Tibetans in-exile.

The biographical text on the major figures of the Katok Nyingma School by Nyoshul Khenpo states:

"The Nyingma Katok tradition enjoyed widespread influence, for 108 principal and 1,002 secondary monasteries were said to uphold this lineage, making it a source of the teachings of the Early Translation school.
The masters of the teachings at the main seat were the successive tulkus of the Katok Drime Zhingkyong, Moktsa, Chaktsa, Kunchen Katok Situ, Nyingon Jamyang, Getse Maha Pandita, and Onpo Tulku......
as well as the more recent incarnation lines of the great khenpos Ngawang Palzang ( ie Khenpo Ngaga, one of Kyabje Penor Rinpoche's Root Teachers ) and Lekshe Dulwai De ( ie the present 84th Throne-Holder, Lhoga Rinpoche )."

Katok Getse, a colossal figure in the Nyingma School is recognised by the previous Jamyang Khyentse and the 16th Karmapa as the incarnation of the Maha Pandita -- Katok Getse, who in turn, is the manifestation of the great translator, Nyak Jnanakumara as well as the incarnation of the direct student of the great terton of the Longchen Nyingthig, Jigme Lingpa.

Please dedicate with your heart that the Great Pandita's visit will be of
the greatest and highest good to all beings and the Buddha's Teachings !!

The Dudjom Tersar

The Terma Tradition is a well-known feature of the Nyingma School. It is the skillful means whereby, Guru Rinpoche - Padma Sambhava, a great and powerful meditation Master, through his yogic powers, concealed teachings destined for future generations in the elements of earth, water, fire, and air as well as in the expanse of awareness in the minds of his disciples. At the appropriate moment these disciples appear in the world as Tertons, or revealers of these teaching which are known as Terma, or Treasures of Dharma. These Teachings were to be discovered at certain time periods, when the beings were in need of a particular teaching to remove obstacles, sickness and various other catastrophes.

His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche was one of these Treasure discoverers and he revealed many teachings that would benefit beings at the time of war, famine and world disharmony that we are facing at the present moment. So the Dudjom Tersar is fresh, vivid, and direct with no loss of meaning, words or blessing. These teachings from Guru Rinpoche to Dudjom Rinpoche to us is a direct short lineage. Therefore this lineage is uncontaminated and knows no degeneration by broken samayas. The blessing and attainments are immediate.

There are ceremonies that remove obstacles in ones life and work and there are many methods in Tibetan Buddhism to dispel the unseen forces that cause sickness, calamities and other misfortunes. The Dudjom Tersar is known to be unsurpassable in these wisdom methods for pacifying, subjugating, increasing and magnetizing all these subtle phenomena.

Along with the Longchen Nyingthik, the Dudjom Tersar has become among the most widespread and popular Terma cycles in Tibet today among both monks and Ngakpa Lamas.

The present programme to be offered by Maha Pandita Katok Getse belongs to the "Innermost Cycles" of the Dudjom Tersar and complete the revelation in terms of Mahayoga, Anuyoga and Atiyoga or Dzogchen.
