 Third Oddiyana Retreat at Tso Pema with Ontul Rinpoche 

 1st  - 14th March 2007

 

 1st~2nd March 

 Sangha and Monks join together to perform the Kagyu Lineage Puja which includes the

 Vajra Songs of the Kagyu Masters(One may attend all or part of this puja.)

 During this time one should do Dagme (Selflessness) meditation,in a place of solitude (in your
 room, in the mountains, in caves or in the forest) for 2 days.

 

 3nd-9th March RAINBOW BODY CHOD

 Ontul Rinpoche bestows the Chod Empowerment 'Establishing the Vajra Rainbow Body'

 - a revealed Terma (Treasure) Teaching by Orgyen Nuden Dorje.

 Ontul Rinpoche will share teachings and guide a Retreat on Rainbow Body Chod.
 The Rainbow Body Chod will conclude with a Chod Tsog and offering of Butter Lamps.

 

 10th~14th March  Chakrasamvara & Vajrayogini Pilgrimage

 Ontul Rinpoche will guide all the students on a special pilgrimage to

 the local holy sites of Kullu and Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh in

 India. Included during this time we will visit monasteries of Sakya,

 Nyingma, Drukpa, Drikung and Karma Kagyu traditions in Bir, Tashi Jong

 & Sherabling. During the days of 12 & 13th March the group will have

 an audience with HH Dalai Lama and HH Gyalwa Karmapa.

We wish to extend a warm invitation to all those who wish to partake in these auspicious teachings in Tsopema during the year of the Pig. We pray that everyone may derive much benefit and blessing from this special event.

 

All Dharma teachings are free of charge, however as is the Buddhist tradition one can make offerings (dana / generosity) towards the teacher and the monastery as one wishes.?The monasteries depend solely on the generosity and kindness of the students and devotees to run the monasteries and take care of the monks and nuns.?Anything offered will be most appreciated.

 

One can attend all or part of the programme (i.e. Year of the Pig Teachings, Oddiyana Retreat, Chakrasamvara & Vajrayogini pilgrimage, Audience with H.H. Dalai Lama, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa.

 

We have limited accommodation available at the monastery, so kindly book ahead of time if you wish to stay here.?If all the accommodation has been booked at the monastery, we can help to make bookings for you at Guesthouses around the lake, kindly let us know in advance.

For participants who are unable to stay at the monastery, all meals are provided at the monastery during the retreat.?We would like to encourage all the retreatants to have meals together at the monastery in order to simplify cooking arrangements for everyone.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be provided at $9 per day.?Tea/Coffee will also be served during the afternoon break.

 

Buffet style vegetarian meals will be available from the morning of 24th Feb till 9th of March. The Drikung Monastery would like to offer a complimentary breakfast to all participants on the morning of 10th March before leaving on the pilgrimage.

 

Unfortunately meals cannot be provided on the day before the teachings start (23rd Feb)as people will arrive at different times, therefore we suggest that meals can be taken at the local restaurants around Tsopema lake.

 

**Please note that special arrangements are made for the meals as extra staff and necessary equipment is needed to provide this for participants.

 

 

 

 

?/span>CHAKRASAMVARA & VAJRAYOGINI PILGRIMAGE 10th March ¡§C 14th March 2007

 

Lho Ontul Rinpoche and his son Lho Orgyen Drodul Dorje Rinpoche will lead a guided pilgrimage for students to the following sacred places:

 

10th               Kullu Valley - Chakrasamvara Holy site (leave from Tsopema  & overnight in Kullu)

 

11th               Chauntra, Bir, Sherbaling (visiting monasteries from all the schools and overnight in Bir)

 

12th                 Tashi Jong, Kangra ¡§C Vajrayogini Holy site, Dharmasala (overnight in Dharamsala)

 

Audience with His Holiness Dalai Lama & His Holiness Karmapa 13th/14th March    

 

Return on 15th March.
