CAS is collecting your offerings to these modern-day Yogis / holy Sangha
for 2006 --
Although your offerings for June 2005 to June 2006 has been gratefully received and offered to the holy Retreat Monks via Geshe Tenzin Choesang of Namgyal Monastery, a Teacher of HH the Dalai Lama's personal monastery, the beings @ CAS thought it best to re-align the period of collection of offering / sponsorship of our monks from 20XX June to 20XX June to 20XX January to 20XX January --
Rationale:
- People have more cash on-hand with bonuses etc at year end
- More time available to beings @ CAS at year-end
For Friends / Sponsors of Sera Je Trehor, Drepung Loseling Phara and Drikung Kagyu monks, your funds co-ordinators remain unchanged: respectively Geshe Lobsang Delek Himself / Geshe Choezed Dhakpa Samdup and Khenpo Rangdol --
The 6 months' overlap of funds will be kept with either the Retreat Master and / or the co-ordinators as "emergency funds" for any monks who may need them --

How to send your offering
You may send your crossed check to the
"Charitable Assistance Society" at
Blk 719, Jurong West Ave 5, #01-66, Singapore 640719
Please indicate at the back of the check that it is for the "Retreat Monks" -
How your sponsorship works
Your sponsorship will be used to acquire mainly food / medical supplies or any other required items -
We will send the check to one of the Teacher's [ Ven Tenzin Choesang (A) ] from Namgyal Monastery -
HH the Dalai Lama's personal monastery in Dharamsala -
Ven Choesang will send acknowledgement letter stating name / amount offered and date received to you via CAS -
CAS will send receipt to you upon receiving your offering [ please include return address with your check !! ] -
Ven Choesang will liase with the Retreat Master to send food or medical supplies regularly up the mountains high up behind the main tibetan settelment with help of indian porters as there are no roads up the mountains -
In fact, tigers or leopards are not infrequent visitors to the retreat monks especially at night during winter !!

The holy monks
As they are in virtual isolation from everyone else - connected only via their infinite wishes and blessings to our world !! - hardly anyone is aware of their needs or even of their presence !!
Your offering is extremely valuable to these 17 Retreat Monks who have committed to stay in retreat till Enlightenment...... amidst highly inaccessible terrain, requirement of the most basic dietary support [ plain rice as main course ] -
It is extremely meritorious and a deep honour to be of assistance no matter the amount to be connected to these serious and sincere practitioners -
