The Victorious Stupa Project

Dear Dharma friend BB Tan,

I am sure you are well with all your committee members and every thing is running smoothly over there. As I told you before on the phone about the Victorious Stupa Project that is being built in my village in the heart of Ladakh Himalaya. However, in order to bring it to successful completion we really need some support in collecting some donation. It would be great if you could please put the information on the web and send it to your mailing list.

Thanks you so much..

I am really looking forward to seeing you soon.

With all my prayers,

Khenpo Rangdol

Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,

I am Khenpo Rangdol on behalf of our village committee, I sincerely appeal for your generous support and donation towards the construction of the great Victorious Stupa that is being built in my village, in the heart of Ladakh, Northern India.

During the reign of King Takpa Bumde, it was the capital of the mighty Kingdom of Ladakh. currently, it is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations for the people of Ladakh and other parts of the world.  This is because, in the palace of the ancient kingdom, there is a famous compassionate Buddha Avalokittashvara emanation, which is now the object of inspiration, reverence and prayers for fulfillment of countless beings wishes.

Every year, thousands of people from all parts of Ladakh, visit this village to pay their respects and devotion to this precious statue, particularly well-known for fulfilling the wish of many mothers who are unable to conceive.  There are some truly amazing stories about mothers who conceive after visiting this place.  The village is one of the largest in the Ladakh, with all the major Vajrayana Buddhist tradition.  In the last few decades, many important Rinpoches have visited and enthusiastically stressed the importance and the benefits of constructing a Victorious Stupa in the vicinity of the village, to spread peace, harmony and happiness throughout the world.  For many years, this has been just  a dream and wish of all the inhabitants.  Now the village has set up a committee to accomplish this long cherished dream to turn it into reality.

Last year, the village committee has symbolically started the ground ceremony with the limited amount of funds that were collected from the families of the villagers and some individuals. The project may take two to three years to complete due to the size of the Stupa (80m tall).  However, the progress of the construction has slowed down due to limited funds and the long harsh winter.

Therefore, I humbly request all you Dharma friends to contribute towards this project to enable the spreading of peace and harmony throughout the world.  Your contributions will be highly appreciated and we will dedicate the benefits and merit of this project towards world peace and harmony.

All donations can be sent to my friend BB Tan or you can contact me via e-mail;

Khanporangdol@rediffmail.com

According to my program, I will be in Singapore beginning of July for two weeks. If you have any further information about the Stupa project, I will be glad to explain it to you.

Appended is a short explanation of the benefits of building Stupas by Buddha Shakyamuni;

???Act of building and restoring temples, Stupas are a great source of benefit for all sentient beings.  Thus the accumulation of such merit is not only the cause of achieving great health, wealth and peace of mind in this life, but also the seed of attaining the state of Buddhahood?BR>
May all mother sentient beings have happiness and the courses of happiness

May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering

May they never be separated form the happiness which is free form sorrow

May they rest in equanimity forever.

With best wishes and prayers for your good health and successful dharma practice.
