____________ A stupid mistake and a dumb hoax
An unmistaken sign of the sheer fallibility ( not infallible at all ) of bb @ CAS. He instigated sending of a "SAVE THE PUPPIES" campaign via CASonline last night, thinking great good has been done.
It was discovered to be a hoax and the article was promptly scrapped.
On the bright side, you will not want to fault him on fast-acting idiot compassion.
bb @ CAS with apologies ( he should )
p/s:
Gratitude to Lilian ( who called to tell bb to magically create puppies as compensation ) / Shu Lian / shaggy etc etc etc for so swiftly-acting to save puppies in mortal peril ( even though they are imaginary !! )
"Thank you for your kindnesss and compassion !!"

BEWARE OF SMS HOAX: PUPPIES
By SIA LING XIN
Fri May 07, 2010
"My Paper"
IF YOU have recently received an SMS urging you to adopt one of the puppies abandoned by a puppy mill in Pasir Ris, take note: It is a hoax. The SMS, which lists 17 breeds of dogs up for adoption, said the dogs will be put to sleep if they are not adopted within the next two weeks. Please help these dogs by passing this message around to as many people as soon as possible," the SMS said. It also provided the name of a volunteer, "Taylor", who is supposedly in charge of the adoption drive.
The address listed in the SMS is that of a puppy mill in danger of shutting down last month, before a group of animal lovers stepped in and bought over the place. When my paper contacted one of the owners, civil servant Derrick Tan, 29, he said: "There is no such thing going on. I've been receiving so many calls and SMSes about this. We are not going to put down any dogs. This SMS is a lie and we don't know who started it." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
